What the SHANK ALIGNER does
The shank adapter is the drifter's connection to the drill string. Its back end takes the blow from the percussion piston; its splines take rotation from the chuck; its threaded end carries the rod. Every joule the machine produces passes through this single component, and it is designed to be consumed.
