What the NOZZLE does
Nozzles and jets meter flushing flow to where it is needed. Their orifice size sets the balance between clearing the hole properly and wasting flow, and that orifice erodes in service.
Signs it needs replacing
- Flushing flow higher than normal at lower pressure — an eroded orifice
- Poor hole cleaning and cuttings packing
- Blockage from debris in the flushing supply
