What the BEARING HOUSING does
Bearings carry the rotation loads in the drifter's rotation gear and in the feed and boom assemblies. On a percussion machine they take a duty most bearings never see: steady rotational load with an impact pulse superimposed on it thousands of times a minute.

Before you fit it
Fit bearings clean, square and to the correct preload — most premature failures are fitting damage, not manufacturing defects. Replace the shaft seals at the same time; a bearing that failed because water reached it will fail again if the seal is reused.
